:Shingle ridge cap Installation Guide
:When installing Shingle ridge cap , follow these steps to ensure proper installation at the ridge or where two roof surfaces meet
A: Open Installation Method
Cover the ridge with a galvanized sheet or a sheet with electrostatic powder paint in the same color as the shingle. The sheet should have a minimum width of 60 cm and a thickness of at least 0.4 mm.
Ensure that the galvanized sheet overlaps by at least 30 cm and seal the entire overlapping surface with bituminous mastic.
Secure the galvanized sheet by driving nails near the edges, spaced 30 to 45 cm apart.
:Before installing the shingles on the ridge
Draw two divergent lines from the highest point of the roof to the lowest point, adjacent to the ridge. The distance of each line from the concave line should be 7.5 cm at the highest point, increasing by one centimeter per meter towards the lower edge of the roof.
Cut the roof shingles along these lines during installation. Each shingle leading to these lines should have a length of at least 30 cm and overlap the ridge sheet by at least 10 cm.
Cut a triangle with a side length of 5 cm from the upper corner of each shingle to direct water towards the ridge.
Apply adhesive along the drawn lines and secure the shingles by driving a nail 5 cm from the edge. Use a metal sheet with a color close to the shingle color for a uniform appearance.
B: Woven Installation Method
Install the shingles so that the last shingle passes at least 30 cm over the ridge. Press the shingles onto the ridge and secure them by nailing at a distance of 15 cm from the ridge.
P: Closed Installation Method
Start installing the shingles on the longer surface of the roof with a lower slope.
Begin the first row of shingles parallel to the bottom edge of the roof and ensure the last shingle crosses at least 30 cm from the ridge.
Press the shingle firmly against the ridge, then secure it by nailing at least 15 cm away from the ridge.
Repeat the process for subsequent rows.
Before installing shingles on the opposite side, draw a line parallel to the ridge line, 5 cm away from it, on the uncovered surface of the roof.
Install the shingles on the adjacent surface, parallel to the roof edge, and cut the end of the last shingle of each row along the drawn line.
Cut the upper corner of each shingle into a triangle shape with a length of 5 cm for better water conduction, and ensure all edges of the shingles are glued.
Follow these instructions to properly install Shingle ridge cap and achieve a secure and professional result.
